  • Spirit Song

O let the Son of God enfold You
With His Spirit and His love
Let Him fill your heart and satisfy your soul
O let Him have those things that hold You
And His Spirit like a dove
    Will descend upon your life
    And make you whole

    (chorus)
Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill Your Lambs
Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill Your Lambs

O come and sing this song with gladness
As your hearts are filled with joy
Lift your hands in sweet surrender
    To His name
O give Him all your tears and sadness
Give Him all your years of pain
    And you'll enter into life
    In Jesus' name

  • Reflections & Notes for "Sabbath: Restoring the Sacred Rhythm of Rest"

This is a book which Henri Nouwen extracts part of the text and place them in between his paragraphs as reference in "Home Tonight: Further Reflections on the Parable of the Prodigal Son". Basically the book I bought is "audible" version on my kindle reader because no text version on kindle is available. But I enjoyed the audible version very much - I could switch off some lights in my room, close my eyes, hears and thinks of the book contents when text is read.

Almost finishing Part II, I had a thought that I should write down the inspiring points here for myself.

    Part II

    • Modern world emphasis on productivity and achievement. One's time are traded with money for higher productivity. And that money is used to fulfill desires and gives happiness
    • Desire will grow and will re-visit you - 'happiness' brought to you isn't last very long, and isn't real when you go deep into that 'happiness'.
    • Sabbath allows you to sink into real happiness by putting aside one's worries, desires and responsibilities

    Part III

    • consecrate every day by mindfulness and belief that everyday is blessed through meditation and prayer
    • treat ourselves a finder on what we have and enjoy in sabbath, not a seeker that always need to go deeper which we may have already find
      • finder - a person who finds something 發現者
      • seeker - a person who is trying to find or get the thing mentioned 尋找者
    • Take care with material possessions because each item receives our tiny portion of care which makes time to consecrate less and less
    • choose a quiet place and allow heart and mind to speak aloud things which one need for forgiveness, the week begins to "dissolve" when you speak the truth no matter what you did before Sabbath in order to receive the blessing, mindfulness, grace and love

nice song. touching my chord lines, moving from a closed thus lonely, wounded and hollow life to a open, restored, cured and resurrected life. forgave the imperfect of human nature of his father who abandoned him when he was small.

  • 靜思

Album "ZiONNOiZ 2" released in May 2000 - 11 years from now! I used to listen these songs frequently. A brother shared his thoughts on ZOiNNOiZ and this created an impulse to listen the CD again.

  • Reflections & Notes on "Home Tonight: Further Reflections on the Parable of the Prodigal Son" - 01

"Where is your home?" "Are you home tonight?"

It is a difficult questions when "home" links to something about creator. Still suspecting if there is really a place for me at "home".

The author invited reader to join with people doing well and languish in various difficult situations to "claim" one's humanity instead of being self-centric - "thinking, growing, speaing or acting just for yourself". Engage one's heart, mind, life experience and belief towards the "presence" which offers "safety, healing, forgiveness" etc

Three "ancient spiritual disciplines: listening, journaling and communing"

    Listening

Stay attentive to stirrings in one's heart and ask
    1. "Who is voicing that message?"
    2. "Why do you think it is meaningful for you?"

    Journaling

    Rembrandt's drawing - http://www.artchive.com/artchive/R/rembrandt/prodigal_son.jpg.html

    1. "Record all that you observed about the light. Stay with it, and write what you heard when you listened and what the light in the painting is saying to you"
    2. write about the contrast between light and "shadows and darkness"
    3. Find words expressing thoughts and feelings about "light, darkness, shadows in your own life"

    Communing

    1. "Speak your thoughts and feelings without fear" as if the One before you
    2. "Pinpoint your feelings and beliefs in terms of light, darkness, and shadows" one encounterd
